We plan on fielding both a Varsity and Junior Varsity team. Registration is mandatory for any player interested in playing for the IceCats this fall. Players must both register and attend tryouts to be eligible to play for the IceCats. 

There will be a parent and player meeting on Thursday, August 13th at 7:30pm. Attendance is expected for all players and at least one parent.

IceCats Hockey starts with evaluations in mid-August and will run through the beginning of March depending on league playoffs and the AHAI state tournament.

Evaluations:

• Tuesday, 8/18 8:30-10:10
• Thursday, 8/20 8:40-10:00 Callbacks only
• Wednesday, 8/26 8:50-10:00 Callbacks only

Any district 128 enrolled 9th-12th grader (Libertyville High School or Vernon Hills High School).

Practices and home games will be held at Glacier Ice Arena. Games may be played across the Chicagoland region.

• Each team will alternate between 3 and 4 slots each week (practices and home games)
• Dedicated goalie skill development

• Season games and playoffs organized within Illinois High School Hockey League (North-Central Division)
• 2-3 team tournaments, including one out of town tournament
• IL State Championship tournament through Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois

New Player Equipment Package:

There is a one time uniform package fee of $625 which includes premier home and away jerseys, home and away socks, home and away shells, IceCats team jacket, custom hockey bag, and helmet stickers. Players are required to have a navy helmet and gloves.

Returning Players:

Returning players will be required to purchase a black premier jersey and shell ($140). All players receive new game socks and a practice jersey included in their registration fees. If replacement gear is needed you will be charged for each item.

Do I need an updated USA Hockey number?

Yes, you will need a current season USA hockey number to register.

When will registration open?

Registration for the upcoming season will open end of July/beginning of August
